                                | Patch 0.3.0, titled The Third Edict, brings significant changes and additions to Path of Exile 2, as revealed in the latest dev diaries. One of the biggest updates is the introduction of Act 4, set in the Karui Archipelago, featuring eight islands that can be explored in any order. The previous “Cruel” difficulty has been removed and replaced with three interlude acts, allowing characters to progress to around level 65 before entering the endgame. This patch also introduces a new seasonal league, Rise of the Abyssals, with Abyssal monsters, fissures, and new crafting mechanics, offering fresh challenges and rewards.
Support gems have received a major overhaul, now allowing multiple copies of the same support per character, including new tiered supports and Lineage Support Gems aimed at enhancing endgame builds. The passive skill tree has also been updated with over 100 new notable passives, reduced attribute requirements, and buffs to multiple archetypes. Endgame content has been expanded with 25+ new maps, new boss types including “Uber” Act 4 bosses, and new map encounters such as Sandstorm, Maelstrom, and Vaal Vaults. Crafting systems have been updated as well, with new orb tiers, Hinekora’s Locks for previewing items, tiered essences, and methods for imbuing hidden modifiers, making the economy more dynamic and creating opportunities to buy poe 2 currency for high-end crafting.

For builds and economy, the support gem changes and passive tree updates are expected to shift meta patterns, requiring players to reconsider skill combinations and support choices. The new crafting mechanics raise item power ceilings but also increase costs, emphasizing careful resource management. The interlude acts and flexible Act 4 progression allow faster access to endgame content, which may affect competition for rare items and gear. Early demand for new uniques and map types could create market volatility, making strategic planning for cheap poe 2 currency purchases important.

Developer commentary indicates a focus on increasing build diversity, reducing grind walls, and smoothing progression. Non-linear island selection in Act 4 and the interlude system aim to make leveling more accessible while still challenging. Players are advised to watch item base values, experiment with the new support gem combos, and adapt to early shifts in the Rise of the Abyssals league economy. Patch 0.3.0 promises to reshape both gameplay and market dynamics, offering new opportunities for strategic crafting and progression.
